Historic Cost Baseline Definition

A historic cost baseline is a time-phased budget that shows the total costs of the project, broken down by each month or quarter. This baseline is used to track actual costs against the budget and to identify trends that could impact the project’s overall cost. The baseline is also used to calculate earned value (EV) for the project.
