This will determine how closely the supplier will be able to match your needs if given the opportunity. After setting a quality standard, you then need to evaluate whether or not the supplier meets that standard.

If all goes well, you may choose to sign a contract with that supplier. However, before doing so make sure that all of your bases are covered and that there are no unforeseen problems with this new relationship
