Cloud Based Definition

Cloud based computing is the delivery of computing services—including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence—over the Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.

With cloud based computing, businesses can use applications without having to install and maintain them on their own servers. business users can access these applications from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Cloud based solutions are often more cost effective than traditional on-premises solutions because they don’t require businesses to make large upfront investments in hardware and software.

There are three main types of cloud services:

SaaS (Software as a Service): A software application is delivered over the internet. Customers can access and use the software, but don’t have control over the infrastructure or platform that it’s running on.

PaaS (Platform as a Service): A platform for developing and deploying web applications is delivered over the internet. Customers have control over the applications they develop, but not over the underlying infrastructure.

IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): Infrastructure components such as virtual machines, storage, and networking are delivered over the internet. Customers have control over these components as well as the applications they deploy on them.
