Contract Notice Period

Contract Notice Period

A contract notice period is the minimum amount of time that a company must wait before it can cancel a contract. The notice period gives the other party time to find a replacement or make alternative arrangements.

The length of the notice period varies depending on the type of contract and the country in which it was signed. For example, in the United Kingdom, the minimum notice period for cancelling a mobile phone contract is one month. In contrast, in Germany, the minimum notice period for cancelling a broadband contract is three months.

If you want to cancel your contract before the end of the notice period, you may be able to do so by paying a cancellation fee. This fee is typically equal to one or two months’ worth of service charges.
