Operating Expenditure (Opex)

Operating Expenditure (Opex) Definition

Operating expenditure, or opex, is a term used in business to refer to the cost of running a company. This includes all the costs associated with keeping the company operational, such as rent, utilities, salaries, and other overhead expenses. Opex can also be used as a measure of a company’s efficiency, since it represents the amount of money that must be spent in order to keep the doors open and the lights on. While opex is not necessarily a bad thing, it is important for businesses to keep track of their spending in order to ensure that they are not overspending and putting themselves at risk of financial difficulties.
