Rationalization Definition

Rationalization is the act of explaining away something that is unpleasant, inconvenient, or otherwise unwanted. It is a way of making oneself feel better by creating excuses for bad behavior or poor performance. Rationalization can be used to justify anything from lying and cheating to procrastination and laziness.
