Agreement To Cancel Lease

An Agreement to Cancel Lease, also known as a Cancelation of Lease or Surrender of Lease, is a legally-binding document that records the mutual agreement between a tenant and landlord to end a lease prior to its expiration date. It offers a way for both parties to get out of a legally binding obligation while avoiding disputes which could end up costing both sides money and time. As part of the agreement, the landlord agrees to waive any past due rent or additional fees related to the lease, and the tenant agrees to vacate the property within an agreed upon period of time. Both parties also agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in their original lease agreement. By signing this document, tenants and landlords can resolve any existing disputes and come away with peace of mind that the tenancy has been terminated without legal ramifications.
