Amendment To A Contract

Amendment To A Contract Definition

An amendment to a contract is a modification or addition to the original terms of the contract. An amendment may be made for any number of reasons, including to reflect a change in circumstances, to add new terms or clauses, or to remove outdated or irrelevant provisions.

Contract amendments are typically made in writing, signed by both parties, and attached to the original contract as an exhibit or addendum. It is important that any changes made by the amendment be clearly stated so that both parties are aware of the updated terms. Once an amendment is executed, it becomes part of the contract and is legally binding on both parties.
