Bias

Bias is an unfair prejudice or inclination, especially one that prevents impartial consideration of a matter. The word bias can be used to refer to a number of different things:

-A person’s prejudiced attitude toward a particular group, race, or religion

-The act of showing favoritism toward one person or thing over another

-A person’s tendency to believe information that supports their own beliefs and disbelieve information that goes against those beliefs

-The systematic distortion of information in order to support a particular point of view
