Expediting

Expediting Definition

Expediting is the process of speeding up the movement of goods or people. It can be done by making special arrangements with transportation companies, by using a faster mode of transportation, or by paying an extra fee.

Expediting is often used when time is of the essence and delays would be costly. For example, if a shipment of parts is needed to keep a production line running, expediting may be used to get them there as quickly as possible. Similarly, if someone needs to get to their destination urgently, they may use an expedited service like air travel.

There are some risks associated with expediting, since it can often lead to rushed decisions and higher costs. However, in many cases the benefits outweigh the risks, and expediting can be a successful way to get things done quickly.
