G Factor

G Factor Definition

G Factor is a term used in psychology to describe a person’s general intelligence. It was first coined by British psychologist Charles Spearman in 1904.

The G Factor is also known as the general intelligence factor or the general cognitive ability. It is a measure of a person’s overall intellectual ability and is considered to be the best predictor of success in life.

IQ tests are designed to measure a person’s G Factor. The higher someone scores on an IQ test, the higher their G Factor is thought to be.

There is some debate amongst psychologists about the existence of the G Factor, with some believing that it does not exist and others arguing that it does. However, there is evidence to suggest that it does exist and that it plays a role in intelligence.
