Hyperinflation In The United States

Hyperinflation in the United States is defined as a sustained period of high inflation, measured at an annual rate of over 50%. This means that prices for goods and services increase rapidly on a monthly or yearly basis, outpacing wages and other sources of income. To put into context how severe this issue can be, hyperinflation has been experienced recently in countries such as Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and Argentina. When average citizens are unable to afford basic necessities like food and medicine, or everyday items become increasingly expensive, businesses are left struggling to keep up with their costs and may ultimately fail. Hyperinflation can lead to economic recession and social unrest, with far-reaching consequences to our global economy.
