An image signature is a digital mark that allows for the recognition and authentication of images. Think of it as a fingerprint: if you have an image, its image signature allows you to quickly identify that image from among all other images. Image signatures are used in a wide range of applications, from copyright protection to automated facial recognition systems. Put simply, an image signature is like a unique identifier that lets computers know that two images are the same—without ever actually looking at them!
