Legal Hold Harmless Agreement

A Legal Hold Harmless Agreement is a legal document used to protect one of the parties involved in a transaction from any liability resulting from the actions of the other. It essentially transfers the responsibility for any damage or loss incurred during the course of the agreement from one party to the other. In other words, it shields certain individuals or entities from potential risks associated with their responsibilities under the agreement. Such agreements are often used to protect landlords from tenant-caused damage, directors and officers of companies from liability, or general contractors from property damage resulting from subcontractors on a project. By entering into a Legal Hold Harmless Agreement, both parties are acknowledging that they understand their respective roles and agree to assume the risk associated with them.
