Major Breach

Major Breach Definition

A ‘major breach’ is defined as an unauthorized intrusion into a system that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of the information stored on that system. A major breach can also be defined as an incident in which an individual gains unauthorized access to information that is not publicly available and that could reasonably be expected to cause serious harm to the individual or business if it were released.
