National Contact Point Definition

The National Contact Point (NCP) is the governmental body in each OECD country responsible for promoting and facilitating the implementation of the Guidelines for multinational enterprises.

The NCP plays a key role in ensuring that the Guidelines are applied effectively and serves as a point of contact for stakeholders, including companies, workers and civil society organizations.

The NCP also provides information on the procedures for filing complaints alleging that a company has not complied with the Guidelines.

NCPs are required to operate independently from government agencies responsible for promoting or regulating investment.
