Net Realizable Value In Accounting

Net Realizable Value (NRV) in accounting is the estimated selling price of an asset minus the estimated costs associated with selling it. It is the amount that a company can expect to receive after all costs have been deducted from the proceeds of sale. In other words, it’s the amount of money you can expect to get if you sell an asset today. This calculation helps businesses better understand the value of their assets and make more informed decisions about where to invest their resources.
