Quality Function Deployment (QFD)

A Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a tool used to ensure that products and services meet customer expectations. QFD involves breaking down customer requirements into specific design elements that can be measured and controlled. By using QFD, companies can improve quality while reducing costs.

There are four main steps in QFD:

1. Identify customer needs and requirements.

2. Translate those needs into specific design elements.

3. Develop a plan to control and monitor those design elements.

4. Implement the plan and track results.
