Social Proof Definition

Social proof is a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of others in an attempt to reflect correct behavior for a given situation. It is a type of conformity where people copy the actions of those around them in order to feel accepted. Social proof occurs in situations where people are uncertain or when they feel that they lack personal expertise.
