Supply Chain Cycle Time

oboloo Glossary

Supply Chain Cycle Time

Supply Chain Cycle Time is the length of time it takes to process a product from initial start to the completion of its delivery. It encompasses everything from raw materials sourcing, supplier collaboration and parts manufacturing to orders being placed, fulfilled, and delivered. This range of activities makes up one supply chain cycle and that cycle’s duration is its ‘cycle time’. In other words, Supply Chain Cycle Time measures how efficient — or inefficient — your operations are running. To remain competitive, businesses need to measure and reduce their Supply Chain Cycle Time, working quickly and efficiently to make sure their customers get their orders as soon as possible.
