Verbal Contract Law

Verbal Contract Law is the legal term for agreements made between two parties without any written form. These verbal contracts are based on the same fundamental principles as traditional contracts, such as offering something of value in exchange for something else of equal or greater value. However, because they lack any physical document to back them up, these contracts must be proved in court with testimony from both sides as to what was spoken and agreed upon. Verbal contracts can have far-reaching legal implications, so it’s important to understand the nuances of the law around them before entering into one. In the end, a verbal contract is only as strong as the words used by those involved.
