Tax Without Representation

oboloo’s Glossary

Tax Without Representation: A form of taxation imposed on citizens without their direct representation in the government body making or collecting the tax. This can lead to a feeling of injustice among citizens, as they are being forced to pay taxes without having any say in how those funds are used. The term ‘taxation without representation’ is most commonly used in reference to the American colonies’ situation prior to the Revolutionary War.
