SDG (Sustainability development goals)
Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 universal objectives that were adopted by all United Nations’ countries in 2015 as a way to address the global challenges facing humanity. The SDGs provide a roadmap for governments, businesses and citizens worldwide to take practical steps towards building a sustainable future. In procurement, it means making conscious decisions about the sources of goods and services, taking into account environmental and social impacts along with cost-effectiveness. This includes seeking out certified suppliers, exploring innovative solutions and packaging materials, and sourcing from responsible producers who adhere to fair working conditions. By integrating sustainability practices into procurement decisions, companies can help ensure that their products and services meet their ethical commitments and support economic growth without compromising on the environment or people.
