COO (Certificate Of Origin)
The Certificate of Origin (COO), also known as a Commercial Invoice, is an official document used in global trade to provide verification that goods have been manufactured, produced, or processed in a particular country. The COO helps buyers determine the applicable tariffs and duties they may be subject to for international imports. It also ensures that customs authorities are able to verify that goods entering their jurisdiction comply with relevant regulations. The COO must be completed, signed, and stamped by a recognized Chamber of Commerce in order to be valid. It should provide details regarding the product’s origin, description, price, quantity, and mode of transport. Completion of the COO is typically the responsibility of the exporter or manufacturer.
