DOD (Department of Defense)

The Department of Defense (DoD) defines procurement as the acquisition of goods, services, and construction on behalf of the DoD that are necessary for carrying out its mission. This includes administrative, acquisition-related activities, such as identifying a requirement; issuing contracts, orders, or delivery documents; receiving supplies or services; displaying property accountability; and paying for items acquired. All procurement activities must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
