FAS (Free Alongside Ship)
FAS (Free Alongside Ship) is an international trading term associated with the sale of goods. In this transaction, the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to a port of destination; the buyer is obligated to pay all expenses related to loading the goods onto a vessel designated and approved by the buyer. FAS defines that the risks and costs of the goods are transferred from the seller to the buyer at the point when the goods are placed alongside theship.
