MBE (Minority Business Enterprise)
A Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) is an organization that is owned, managed and controlled by a person or persons who are socially and economically disadvantaged. MBEs provide goods and services to corporations, government agencies and other organizations while participating in procurement activities, such as co-contracting. MBEs offer solutions that create value for the public sector, help promote economic development and social inclusion, thus ensuring the success of minority business owners. As part of Affirmative Action initiatives, many states and municipalities are working to provide MBEs with equal access to government contracting opportunities.
