GST (Goods & Services Tax)

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a broad-based, value-added tax that is levied on most goods and services sold for domestic consumption. The GST is paid by consumers, however it is remitted to the government by the businesses selling the goods and services. In procurement, GST provides a more streamlined process by eliminating double taxation on supplies – now businesses can pay one single amount of tax for all purchases and sales. GST also reduces compliance costs by providing businesses with simpler paperwork and reporting procedures.
