Tender Clarification
A tender clarification is a written document issued by a procuring entity to bidders, requesting clarification on certain aspects of their bids. The purpose of a tender clarification is to ensure that all bids are based on the same information and understanding of the requirements of the procurement.
If there are any discrepancies between the bids received, or if there is anything that is unclear in a bid, the procuring entity may issue a tender clarification. This could be in response to a queried raised during the bid submission process, or it may be something that comes to light during the evaluation stage.
A tender clarification should not be used to seek proposals from bidders that were not included in the original procurement process. Nor should it be used to request additional information that was not originally requested from bidders. If either of these things is required, then a new procurement process may need to be initiated.
