Organisational Learning

Organisational Learning Definition

Organisational learning is the process by which organisations develop and improve their ability to achieve their objectives. It involves the acquisition and utilisation of knowledge and skills, and the development of new capabilities. It is a continuous process that takes place throughout an organisation’s life cycle.

There are different approaches to organisational learning. One approach views it as a process of acquiring and internalising new knowledge and skills. This view emphasises the importance of learning from experience, and from other organisations. Another approach focuses on the social aspects of learning, and sees it as a process of sharing knowledge and ideas within an organisation. This view emphasises the role of communication and collaboration in organisational learning.

Organisational learning is essential for organisations to survive and thrive in today’s rapidly changing environment. It helps organisations to adapt to new circumstances, to respond quickly to changes in the market, and to develop new products and services. Organisations that are able to learn effectively will be more successful in achieving their goals, and will be better placed to compete in the global marketplace.
