Operating Working Capital

oboloo’s Glossary

Operating Working Capital, or OWC for short, is the difference between current assets and current liabilities. In other words, it’s the money you have on hand to cover your day-to-day business expenses. Put simply, a company with high OWC will find it easier to pay its everyday bills, stock up on inventory and manage its cash flow. On the flip side, businesses with low OWC may struggle to keep up with their daily outgoings. As such, it’s important to keep an eye on your OWC and make sure it remains healthy in order to maintain the ongoing success of your business.
