Accounts Payable System Requirements

Accounts Payable System Requirements are the needs and minimum standards for an Accounts Payable system, including how it works and how it should work.

To understand Accounts Payable System Requirements, you need to think about the purpose of your business’s Accounts Payable Department. What do they do? Why do they exist?

If your company has a good handle on this, then you can easily determine what your Accounts Payable System Requirements should be.

If not, I’ll try to help by explaining these things to you:

1) What does Accounts Payable do?

Accounts Payable is a department that is responsible for paying all the bills that vendors have sent to you, who in turn have been paid by the Sales Department for any products or services they’ve sold to your company. The purpose of Accounts Payable is to make sure all amounts are correctly accounted for so that vendors are paid only once and so that everyone gets paid as accurately as possible.
