Cash Realizable Value

oboloo’s Glossary

Cash realizable value is a term used in accounting to describe the estimated price at which an asset can be sold on a timely basis in order to generate cash. In other words, it’s the amount of cash that you could reasonably expect to get if you sold an asset. This figure takes into account the current market conditions, the quality of the asset and any costs associated with disposing of the asset (e.g. commission). Accounting professionals use this figure to assess the profitability and financial performance of a business.
