Consumers Definition

A consumer is an individual who purchases goods and services for personal use. The term ‘consumer’ can also refer to a person who uses something, such as water or land, without owning it.

The word ‘consumer’ comes from the Latin word consumere, which means ‘to use up.’ The first known use of the word in English was in the 14th century.
