The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the executive responsible for directing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of an organization. This role involves providing strategic guidance to ensure efficient operations and maximum output across all areas while working closely with the CEO to ensure that company goals are achieved. Specifically, COOs have a comprehensive set of responsibilities which includes managing IT and HR, budgeting and forecasting, overseeing operations, directing marketing efforts, as well as assisting with internal/external communications and negotiations. Additionally, COOs must also continually assess the effectiveness of their strategies in order to make any adjustments necessary to ensure the growth of the organization.
