CPFR Definition

CPFR is a collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment system that improves supply chain management by integrating information and processes across trading partners. The ultimate goal of CPFR is to create a seamless flow of information and materials throughout the supply chain, from manufacturers to retailers to consumers.

The CPFR concept was developed in the early 1990s by a group of companies including Procter & Gamble, General Electric, Coca-Cola, Sears, and Hewlett-Packard. Since then, many other companies have adopted CPFR as a way to improve their own supply chain management.
