Data integrity is the maintenance of, and the assurance of the accuracy and consistency of, data over its entire life cycle. Data integrity includes ensuring that data is not lost or corrupted during input, storage, processing, or output.

There are several ways to ensure data integrity, including:

-Using checksums or hash values to verify that data has not been changed

-Storing data in a read

-only format

– encrypting data

-Using software that monitors for changes to data and alerts users if changes are detected
