Deception Definition

Deception, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is ‘the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid.’ In other words, deception is an intentional act of fraud. Deception can be used in many different ways and for many different reasons. Sometimes people use deception simply to get what they want, while other times people may use it as a way to protect themselves from harm.
