An electronic signature, or e-signature, is an electronic form of authentication that is used in all kinds of transactions. It is often defined as a process designed to identify the signatory of an agreement and to ensure the integrity of their signature. Essentially, an electronic signature is any type of digital mark that is securely linked to an individual or entity and used as a means for them to agree to or approve any sort of agreement. In other words, it’s an electronically captured proof of intent that shows that terms have been agreed upon between two (or more) parties.
