Indirect Buyer Definition
An indirect buyer is a person or organization that purchases goods or services from a supplier for resale to another party. The term is most often used in business-to-business (B2B) transactions.
In a typical B2B transaction, the original manufacturer sells products to a distributor, who then sells them to a retailer, who then sells them to the consumer. In this example, the manufacturer would be the direct buyer, while the distributor and retailer would be indirect buyers.
The term can also be applied to situations where an intermediary is involved in facilitating a transaction between two parties. For example, if you were to purchase a ticket to an event from an online ticketing service such as Ticketmaster, the ticketing service would be considered an indirect buyer.
