Involuntary Termination Letter

An Involuntary Termination Letter is a formal document issued by an employer to a current employee informing them that their job contract has been terminated due to circumstances outside of the employee’s control. This could be for reasons such as reduced business needs, restructuring or financial difficulties. Involuntary termination letters explain the reason for the termination and specify any severance package or benefits the employee may be entitled to upon leaving. It is important for employers to use this letter when terminating an employee, so that they are able to demonstrate they acted in accordance with the law and with fairness and respect.
