A Joint Ownership of Property Agreement, or JOPA, is a contract between two or more parties who share ownership of a property. The agreement outlines the rights and obligations each owner has with respect to the property and sets out their respective contribution to costs associated with it. Additionally, it provides guidelines as to how profits are divided if the property is eventually sold. With this legal document in place, every party involved in the joint ownership arrangement is protected and any disputes that might arise can be quickly resolved.
