A Leave Of Absence For Mental Health Letter (LOFAMHL) is a formal document that grants an employee permission to take time off work in order to attend to mental health concerns. With a LOFAMHL, the employer acknowledges that their employee’s mental health is of utmost importance and must be taken into account when they are given the opportunity to take a break from the workplace. By granting the employee a LOFAMHL, the employer commits themselves to being supportive during the employee’s absence and respecting their rights as an employee after they have returned from their leave of absence.
