Legal Witness

A legal witness is a person who has personal knowledge of particular facts and can provide sworn testimony to those facts in a legal proceeding. As a legal witness, your testimony must be based on what you have seen, heard, or experienced firsthand. Your testimony provides evidence to support or defend a legal argument, making it a critical part of many lawsuits and criminal cases. Legal witnesses are expected to provide accurate and truthful information during the trial process and must take an oath to uphold the law. If you become a legal witness, your words could shape the outcome of a case – so make sure you know what you’re talking about!
