Manufacturing and production are often used interchangeably, but they are distinct concepts when it comes to business. Manufacturing is the process of turning raw materials into finished products. It involves transforming components or ingredients into a form that can be sold. For example, a car factory takes steel and plastic and transforms them into cars. Production is the act of creating something on a large scale. It involves various processes such as planning resources, setting up machines, operating the machines, coordinating workers, and delivering the end product. For example, a film production company creates a movie by assembling crew members, actors, directors, cinematographers and other related personnel, procuring filming equipment and managing the creative aspects to make the movie.
