Mutual Information System On Social Protection (Missoc) Definition
The Mutual Information System on Social Protection (MISSOC) is an information system that facilitates the exchange of information between Member States of the European Union (EU) and between EU institutions on national social protection systems.
MISSOC was established in 1992 with the aim of providing comparative information on social protection systems in the EU. The MISSOC network consists of representatives from the social protection ministries or equivalent institutions of all EU Member States, as well as representatives from the European Commission and the European Parliament.
MISSOC produces a range of publications, including an annual report, country profiles and sectoral reports. The information contained in these publications is used by policy-makers, researchers and others interested in social protection issues.
