Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a field of computer science and linguistics that deals with the interaction between computers and human (natural) languages.

NLP is used to develop applications that can understand human language and respond in a way that is natural for humans. NLP is a interdisciplinary field with researchers from many different backgrounds, including computer science, linguistics, psychology, and anthropology.

Applications of NLP include: automatic summarization, information extraction, question answering, machine translation, text classification, sentiment analysis, speech recognition, and more.
