Nearshoring

Nearshoring

Nearshoring is the process of moving business operations closer to the supplier. This can be done for a number of reasons, including reducing costs, improving quality, or increasing speed to market.

A nearshore operation is typically within a few time zones of the customer and/or has similar cultural characteristics. This can make communication and coordination easier than with an offshore operation, which may be located half a world away.

Some companies choose to nearshore all of their operations, while others maintain a mix of nearshore and offshore facilities. The decision depends on many factors, including cost, quality, speed to market, and customer preference.
