Non-Current Assets Definition
A non-current asset is an asset which is not expected to be converted into cash within the next year. Non-current assets are also known as long-term assets or fixed assets.
Some examples of non-current assets include:
Property, plant, and equipment – such as land, buildings, machinery, and vehicles
Intangible assets – such as patents, copyrights, and goodwill
Investments in other companies – such as equity investments and debt securities
Deferred tax assets – such as tax credits that can be used to offset future taxes
