Pugh Analysis Definition

Pugh analysis is a technique used to systematically compare different design options. It is typically used early in the design process, before a detailed design has been completed.

The goal of Pugh analysis is to identify the best design option, or the one that offers the most improvement over the existing design. To do this, each design option is evaluated against a set of criteria. The criteria are typically based on the objectives of the project and the specific needs of the users.

Pugh analysis is named after Dr. Stuart Pugh, who developed the technique while working at Rolls-Royce in the UK.
